Mission

Carson City Health and Human Services aims to protect and improve the quality of life for our community through disease prevention, education and support services.

Vision

To lead the region in providing services that support healthy communities.

About Us

We are a local health department housed within the City of Carson City, a consolidated municipality.

The health department is comprised of the following Divisions that provide services to the community:

  • Administration
  • Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion
  • Clinical Services
  • Disease Control & Prevention
  • Environmental Health
  • Human Services
  • Public Health Preparedness

Although Carson City Health & Human Services is housed within the City of Carson City, our services do not stop at the Carson City boundary lines. Many of our Divisions serve Douglas County, Lyon County, and Storey County as well.

Community Health Needs Assessment

This Quad-County Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) serves as a critical phase in the overall effort to improve community health. Through the collaborative CHNA process, we create a snapshot of community health perceptions, health behaviors, and disparities. We develop an inventory of community assets and resources available to catalyze progress, and we reach consensus on our top community health priorities.
